What opting out does
- We record the opt-out for your numeric X user id. From then on, HeldFor refuses every new bag for you: launches and locks of existing coins.
- The website stops accepting your handle as a recipient.
- Your handle, name, avatar and X id disappear from every public page, feed and share image.
- The receipt bot never posts about you again.
- If you choose, all your unclaimed bags are burned in the same step.
How to opt out
- Go to /optout and log in with X (we only read your numeric id and handle).
- Choose whether to also burn your existing unclaimed bags.
- Confirm. It is free: our relayer pays the network fee. If the relayer is unavailable, you can pay the small fee from a wallet instead.
Existing bags
Opting out doesn’t move bags that already exist. You decide: burn all of them now (each one is destroyed permanently, whoever locked it), or keep them and claim or burn them later. Nobody else can ever claim them. Bags already being paid out to your wallet keep vesting.
Public pages
After an opt-out, coin pages, leaderboards, the activity feed and share images show no handle, name, avatar or X id for you. Your profile page says only that the account opted out. On-chain records stay public, as with any blockchain data.
Bot posts
The bot stops posting about you immediately. If it posted about you before you opted out, write to us and we delete those posts from the bot account: @HeldForX on X. We aim to do this within 30 days.
Just don’t want to be tagged?
You don’t need to opt out for that. The bot never @mentions anyone unless they allowed it on /claim (“Let @HeldForX mention me”, off by default). Without that permission it writes your handle without the @, which doesn’t notify you.
Is it permanent?
Yes. We don’t offer a way to undo an opt-out, so a mistaken or forced opt-out can’t be undone either. We keep your X id and the opt-out date in our database for as long as we run HeldFor, because we need them to keep honouring your choice.
What opt-out can’t do
- It can’t delete on-chain data (existing bags, past transactions, coin names or descriptions written by deployers).
- It can’t stop people from mentioning you on X or elsewhere, or from creating coins about you on pump.fun outside HeldFor.
- It can’t stop someone from sending you tokens directly; only HeldFor bags are blocked.
If a coin uses your name or image without permission, you can also report it to pump.fun and to us; we can hide it from HeldFor.
Lost access to your X account?
Write to us. After we verify that the account is yours, we hide it from the website and the bot by hand. Without an X login we can’t confirm the account is yours, so we don’t burn its bags; we would hide them too.
Your GDPR rights
Opting out is how you exercise your right to object (Art. 21 GDPR) to our processing of your X data. Your other rights (access, erasure of off-chain data, and more) are in the Privacy Policy.
